Growing up in Mandeville, Louisiana, Blakley gained a passion for cooking from her paternal grandfather. They cooked together from the age of 5 and after finishing culinary school from Chef Parola's Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge, she was certified as a Chef de Cuisine. Later, she went on to finish college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in Hospitality Management. Soon after, Blakley had the opportunity to work as the Executive Chef for Marcello's Restaurant & Wine Bar. 10 years later, she is the chef, and managing partner with Gene Todaro Jr. and his father Gene Sr. at their location on St. Charles Avenue in the CBD. Their restaurant is an authentic  representation of Sicilian comfort food and is also close to Blakley's heart since her Maternal grandmother, a Mustacchia, is of Sicilian decent. Eat, Love, Drink and Cheers is her motto:)
