Event Recap: 39th Annual Chefs' Charity for Children

On Wednesday, March 9, some of New Orleans’ most talented chefs turned out for the 39th Annual Chefs’ Charity for Children at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Chefs' Charity is one of the key fundraising events that benefits St. Michael Special School, the Catholic school that serves special needs children and adults of Greater New Orleans.

Some of New Orleans’ most esteemed chefs including Emeril Lagasse, Andrea Apuzzo, John Besh, Leah Chase, Justin Devillier, John Folse, Goffredo Fraccaro, Gunter Preuss, Tory McPhail, Greg Reggio and Alon Shaya all took part in a sold-out event this year, preparing a 10-course meal for 1,500 attendees.

A beneficiary of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation since 1988, St. Michael Special School remains one of Chef Emeril’s important causes. Events like Chefs’ Charity offer unique opportunities for chefs and attendees to get to know the students they’re helping.

The Emeril Lagasse Foundation looks forward to many more years of support for this incredible event and organization. To learn more about St. Michael Special School, visit their website here.
